GRANT APPLICATIONS

Technology, as widely accessible as it might be, is not always affordable. To address this, there are many resources we can help you navigate.

The Tyler Schrenk Foundation provides two grants: The Jose Blakely Memorial Grant and the Demonstrating Independence Program Grant.

The José Blakely Memorial Grant

The José Blakely Memorial Grant focuses on one individual a year. Anyone that is looking to increase their independence is eligible.

This grant will not be limited to just one device that can increase independence but whatever is necessary to have a sustained impact on the recipient's life.

Submissions are reviewed in July of every year with a recipient being selected by August.

José was not only a great friend and mentor of mine but he was the first person to encourage me to begin to use assistive technologies to increase my independence. Without José, I would not be in the honored position to be able to help others as he helped me.

– Tyler Schrenk

The Demonstrating Independence Grant

The Demonstrating Independence Grant provides several recipients with assistive technologies, enabling a more independent lifestyle.

A device is provided that can help someone control their lights or TV by voice, enable phone calls, and much, much more.

Submissions are reviewed and recipients selected on a rolling basis.
